Nuytco Research Ltd. is a world leader in the design, development and operation of undersea technology such as the Nuytco ADS and DeepWorker manned submersible systems. Nuytco and its sister company, Can-Dive Construction Ltd., have over forty years of global operations experience and track records within the energy sector. Nuytco and Can-Dive are owned by an internationally recognised pioneer in the diving industry, Mr Phil Nuytten. Nuytten’s one-atmosphere systems – the hard-suits ‘Newtsuit’ and ‘Exosuit’, and his deep-diving submersible “DeepWorker” are renowned internationally. This deep diving equipment, along with Nuytten’s military submarine rescue system technology (designated ‘Remora’ by the Royal Australian Navy and ‘PRMS’ by the US Navy), is standard in the world’s navies.

Atmospheric Diving Suits

An Atmospheric Diving Suit (ADS) is a small one-man submersible that can be used for deep dives of up to 610msw (subject to system depth rating).

Atmospheric Diving Suits offer numerous advantages over traditional air and saturation diving systems such as:

 Safety Focused

  • The use of an ADS eliminates the majority of the physiological dangers associated with deep diving as there is no need for the occupant to decompress, there is no danger of decompression sickness or nitrogen narcosis or the requirement for special gas mixtures.

  • The primary advantages of the ADS system is that it eliminates all of the disadvantages of diving including depth or decompression limitations, limited vertical and horizontal excursion capability,

 Cost Effective

Atmospheric Diving Suits offer significant savings in mobilization / demobilization costs, daily operating costs, manning levels and can also be operated off of a smaller work platform compared to saturation diving that has very high equipment and operating costs coupled with extended decompression times.

 Tooling Efficiency

An ADS is capable of executing numerous subsea construction tasks and various subsea activities utilising standard diver or ROV tooling, in many case there is no modifications required to any of the tooling.

 Minimal Footprint

Basic 2 x Atmospheric Diving Suit systems consists of:

  • 1 x 20 foot Container – Dive Control and electrical spares are stored in the same container

  • 1 x 20 foot Container – Suit storage, mechanical workshop and spare parts

  • 2 x 20 foot Containers – LARS, TMS and Umbilical winch systems

Alternatively the ADS can utilize the host vessels cranes. The host crane must be a 4 ton rated “man riding” unit (minimum requirements), in this mode of operation the suits are not operated via the TMS system and only the 2 LARS containers are not required.

DeepWorker Submersibles

The Nuytco DeepWorker is a safe and highly maneuverable underwater vehicle that provides excellent visibility for direct observation, and a stable platform for imaging, survey, scientific research and subsea construction tasks. The submersible is designed and built to operate to a depth of either 610msw or 1000msw subject to the submersibles depth rating. DeepWorkers typically operates autonomously, however can also operate in a tethered mode.

DeepWorkers offer numerous advantages over traditional WROV systems such as:

 Training

The compact and lightweight DeepWorker 2000 and 3000 are easy to operate and can be piloted with minimal training.

 Cost Effective

2 DeepWorker Submersibles comparatively cost less than 1 WROV.

 Tooling Efficiency

A DeepWorker is capable of executing numerous subsea construction tasks and various subsea activities utilising standard diver or ROV tooling, in many case there is no modifications required to any of the tooling.

 Minimal Footprint

A DeepWorker system is extremely compact and 2 x 20ft ISO containers can store and support 2 DeepWorkers.
