HMI All Electric Olympic Arms
Triumph Subsea Services is pleased to announce another landmark procurement agreement with Houston Mechatronics, Inc. (HMI). HMI will be providing 26 all-electric Olympic arms for Triumph’s Work Class ROV fleet. This agreement represents the industry’s first commercialization of this ground-breaking technology.
Olympics’ strength-weight-size characteristics as an electric manipulator makes it the first of its kind. Olympic will provide high precision, repeatability & dexterity, zero working fluid, lower overall power consumption, position & force feedback, intelligent path planning, and integrated tool changing. HMI’s Olympic arm represents another truly forward thinking offering and we are excited to be working together so that we may achieve more modern, cost effective, and sustainable subsea operations.
This commitment is in line with Triumph’s other announcements to bring disruptive technologies to the market and utilizing the Olympic arms is another differentiator in Triumph’s portfolio which remains unrivalled in sustainability growth programmes.
The Olympic arm is another example of how technologically advanced robotics and autonomous systems are utilized within our new green tech ecosystem of vessels that will be operating within the energy, offshore wind farms, offshore green hydrogen, and renewables sector.
