Collaborative Partnership with NXT Global Communications
Triumph’s collaboration with NXT ensures that the most capable and reliable communication solutions are being deployed to customers. This will initially occur via the Kymeta™u8 terminals on the Triumph new build vessels and then into the maritime industry in general. The Kymeta™ u8 terminal addresses the need for lightweight, slim, and high-throughput communication systems that do not require mechanical components to steer toward a satellite. Triumph will be utilizing the Kymeta™ u8 terminals on-board our vessels in both integrated applications and portable units.
The new Kymeta™ u8 terminal provides a complete connectivity solution for on-the-go communications. Designed with revolutionary software-defined, electronic beam steering technology, the u8 terminal is low profile, mounting easily on vehicles and vessels. The u8 terminal delivers connectivity in a single integrated platform weighing only 34kg.
Triumph COO Gray Johnstone stated, “We are very excited to be working and collaborating with NXT and incorporating the Kymeta™u8 terminals onto all of our vessels including the Hydronaut USVs. Given the large amount of autonomous and ‘over the horizon’ capabilities fitted to our vessels and Hydronaut, the installation of the u8 terminals guarantee that we have a failure proof and reliable communications system with 100% redundancy.”
NXT CEO Chris MacDonald stated, “Having reliable communications while at-sea is critical. By eliminating some common failure points associated with traditional communication systems, the u8 provides a solution that is not only reliable, but easily installed and operated. NXT is happy to collaborate with a company that is at the forefront of the blue economy and is doing everything to ensure their customers have access to best solutions available.”
